Welcome to Our GAEA Web Site

The Georgia Association of Enrolled Agents is a professional non-profit membership organization dedicated to representing, promoting and enhancing the Enrolled Agent profession. Enrolled Agents are unique as the only group of tax practitioners required to maintain credentials through continuing education which is reported directly to the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled Agents are equipped to handle the most complex tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and LLCs, and are nationally enrolled to represent tax payers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service.

Enrolled Agents provide much more than just tax preparation. They are on your side for audits and tax problems. Many provide tax planning, well before the tax return is to be filed. Some provide guidance for new business startups and business consulting.

Foremost, Enrolled Agents are tax specialists. Whether for individual or business income taxes, payroll taxes, sales taxes, personal property or estate taxes, look to an Enrolled Agent for a tax expert!

This site is designed as a resource for taxpayers as well as Enrolled Agents. It is not a substitute for professional assistance, but strives to offer quick reference for common questions.

Can an Enrolled Agent Help Me?

Enrolled agents advise, represent and prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts and any other entity with tax-reporting requirements. EAs prepare millions of tax returns each year. Enrolled agent expertise in the continually changing field of taxation enables them to effectively represent taxpayers audited by IRS.

In addition to tax preparation and tax representation, many enrolled agents offer other business-related services which may include accounting and bookkeeping, financial planning or budgeting, payroll services, financial statement preparation, and mortgage assistance.

Because enrolled agents have such diverse backgrounds and may offer a variety of services, it is important to talk with your enrolled agent about how his/her expertise may assist you.
