How to Join the GAEA Tax Discussion Group
Posted by Chet Burgess 05/06/2010
It is easy to become a subscriber. Just send an email to GAEA Director Ned Bishop, EA at nedbishop@csbsatlanta.com. Ned is the Administrator of the discussion group. If you later wish to unsubscribe, send Ned an email asking to be removed. There is no cost to participate.
Here are answers to a few questions that may pop up:
·This is a discussion list, meaning that a message from anyone subscribed will be passed through to everyone on the list. If the email doesn't come from a subscribed address, it is ignored.
·A message To the group addressed to gaea@cctomany.com will show the email address of the sender in the From line. If your spam filter prevents passage of a message from the sender, you will not receive it. You will need to approve that sender.
·Recipients don't see other recipients' addresses. The list address appears on the To: line, and each recipient sees no other recipient addresses.
·Note that you cannot BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) a message to the list. The list's address must appear on the To: or Cc: line of your message.
·We are using CcToMany instead of Yahoo Groups or Google Groups because CcToMany is
o- More private.
o- Easier to use.
o- No advertising.
o- No Google Account or Yahoo memberships required.
o- Faster & more reliable.
·Subscribers can send as often as they wish. The only limitation is an anti-loop feature, which won't allow more than 12 posts from the same address per day (to break any mail loops which might occur from faulty autoresponders, etc.). But not to worry: we can increase the 12 limit if such becomes desireable.
·Attachments may be sent. Your message is delivered just as you send it, including any attachments.
·If you wish your response to go only to a particular person and not to the entire list, you must address your response to that person and not to the entire discussion group. You can just change the To line if you wish your response to go other than to the entire list.
The discussion group is for business use only. Personal messages (e.g., “congratulations on your new grandchild”) are not appropriate for this forum. Also not appropriate are the joke of the day, foul language, advertising, personal attacks, or political statements. The Administrator is the arbiter and will delete any subscriber who abuses the forum.
